This is just to let anyone reading this I've not forgot about my blog. It's been a long year some unexpected things have happened in my own life. Therefore it has placed my love for creating to a stand still. I am starting slowly to get back on track. Creating a lot just need to take pictures and place new items on my Etsy site. Selling somewhere else

OK so we all love Etsy and what wonderful doors it has opened for us as creators. I myself are grateful that they have inspired me to create more. I've met lots of great people as well. Most are willing to share their own thoughts and guidance.

Setting up your own site can prove you can sell in this never ending internet. You just have to work at it like any other site you will need to promote, promote,promote. I've not gain the courage or the strength to setup my own site because of all the time I spend on promoting my Etsy shop. With that being said, I've been introduced to another Handmade site called Shop Handmade. I've opened a shop here as well just because they are not as saturated as Etsy is now (not to say this won't happen here too.) I hope their exposure spreads and good things comes out of it. I've only listed a few items just to see. For now the listing are free. The site is a bit slow and confusing on some things. I will just wait and see. It will be interesting to see which of my shops does better.

More ways to promote

OK it's been a long week especially if you have been following the news. It's enough for all of the hairs on my head to go gray. Never give up though on your dreams it's what makes us strong and stand proud. Now one of the most important things to do to promote your Etsy shop or any business for that matter is hand out your business cards! Talk to people (anyone!! I mean it) you may be surprise of the outcome if you just mentioned something about the things you make or sell. If you wear you items (for all of you jewelry makers) you may get some comments which in turn gives you the opportunity to talk about your shop and site.

If you sell items that are not wearable such as photos, pottery etc. I think making mini pictures of your work that you can carry around will give you something to show and share with others. It couldn't hurt, any exposure is worth the effort.

It's close to the holidays if we all hang on we can make it through. I'm still learning as I go along. I will continue to pass my knowledge alone as well. Until next time..HAPPY SELLING!

Monster Promos featured seller at Etsy

I've another great way to promote your shop. It's simple and automated. I purchased a great car decal for my car. All the while I do my day to day errands or another family member is using my car my shop is being promoted. Picture shown is not of my own care but the image shown on Monster Promos. How much more simple can it be. They offer other things you can use to promote your shop as well. I wanted to thank Monster Promos for allowing me to add them on my blog.

At Etsy I often come across a kind sole who is willing to help another Etsian out by placing them on their own blog for exposure. This is always appreciated!!! I will be adding other Etsy shops as I go along as well. Many thanks to all of these kind people that offer this to other shops. Happy Friday!!! I'll be back next week.

Hello and Welcome

Welcome to my blog! Sorry if this seems a bit backwards. I was not familiar enough to get my post in the right place but I'm much better with it now. I will be trying to keep a journal of my time with Etsy. There are many great artist there. There does not seems to be enough time in a day to fit all that is needed to be done. Number one on any artist list is to create. Many others things required to be done once your creations (for the day) are done. Pictures need to be taken (a task easier said then done) If the artist is a photographer already then they are ahead in the game. Listing your items and putting tags that will draw others to you.

I started on Etsy Dec 2007 it is now close to being there one year. I've learned a lot but also have a long way to go. As with any business it will not happen over night and will take time and patience.

I've met many great people that are willing to help at Etsy. As I go along I will ask mentors for their input. Although Etsy has become saturated it is still a great place to sell from.

RME is another great way to get payments from customer on your Etsy site. The great part is there are no fees involved like there are using Pay Pal. Don't get me wrong I use Pay Pal too for my customers who chose this option. My thing is why pay additional fees that take away from your profits. Check it out I did. If you do chose to use this in your Etsy site list it as other payment option you would need to send your customer an invoice to get payment. Happy Selling!!

Starting something new

Ok so I love to make the bracelets and necklaces but my creative side screams to find more things to make. Although I done the scrabble pendents I am not 100% happy with my results. So I will con't to work on the finished product making them more Durable. I am also trying to create pendants with polymer clay. Again looking to make the finished product more durable. I am going to try to use resin. I've had the materials forever it seems. I've just been too chicken to give it a whirl. I will more than likely do this before the week is out. My test product will include a resin pendant of the Jonas Brothers for my neighbors daughter who has had many medical problems in the last few years. Her latest she must get a biopsy of her breast. Though this can be nerve wrecking for anyone she is only fourteen yrs old. My prayers are out there for her. Please include her in yours.
